RME-Audio Audio Interfaces

The HAMMERFALL DSP SYSTEM is digital audio sound card interface that consists of 4 different options. Two of these options are the Digiface and Multiface audio interfaces. Both of these interfaces require a PCI (Hammerfall DSP PCI) or Laptop (Hammerfall DSP Mobile) card that connects them to a computer. It can be used for Professional Studios, Surround Studios, Project and Home Studios as well as for Video Post production.

These sound cards are made by RME-Audio. RME-Audio has been working closely with Steinberg to develop the fastest PC and Mac sound interfaces for both Nuendo and Cubase. I have this sound interface and know that it works very well with both applications. The converters are clean and the drivers are excellent and offer very low latency while the computer interface cards have well design low latency drivers that work wonders.

You will need to get either the RME-Audio Mobile or PCI card in order to connect the Multiface to the computer. The mobile card is made for laptop computers while the PCI card is for desktop PC and MAC computers.

The other great thing is that these sound cards / audio interfaces support Multi-Processors. I have tried Neundo on an AMD and XEON dual processors systems without any problem. This does vary as other people have said they are getting up closer to 49% or so more tracks. By tracks I mean processing power. For instance there is a limit on how much audio data (audio tracks) can flow across the PCI bus. I'm using 50% as being twice as much power and that the cpu load is more evenly distributed across across the two cpus. Steinberg has also optimized the for Intel Hyperthreading and multithreading capabilities.

RME-Audio HDSP 9652 PCI Card
The HDSP 9652 PCI Card - ASIO 2 capable (3) ADAT lightpipe interface sound card with (3) x 8 channels of digital Input and output (24 inputs and 24 outputs). This card does not have the analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters.

RME-Audio Hammerfall HDSP Multiface
The Hammerfall HDSP Multiface is the analog audio interface that has (8) TRS inputs and (8) TRS outputs.

RME HDSP Digiface
The RME HDSP Digiface is a 1/2 rack digital audio interface made specificatly for Nuendo and Cubase but can be used with many other digital audio applications. It's been designed for use in professional, home, and project studios as well as for video postproduction. It's main feature is the (3) ADAT light pipe connections.

RME HDSP PCI
The RME HDSP PCI is a PCI interface card that has to be used in order to connect the Steinberg Multiface or Digiface to a computer. It can be used with either a MAC or PC that has a PCI complient bus.

RME HDSP CardBus/PCI Interface
The RME HDSP Cardbus is a PCMCIA interface card that has to be used in order to connect the Steinberg Multiface or Digiface to a laptop or notebook computer. It can be used with either a MAC or PC that has a PCMCIA complient bus. For Desktop computers see the Audiolink 96 PCI Card. You can use more than one of these cards to build a synchronized audio system.

RME Fireface 800 FireWire Computer Recording Interface
RME Fireface 800 FireWire Computer Recording Interface

The RME FireFace 800 is a Firewire based audio interface with 10 analog channels of I/O, two ADAT optical ports, and an S/PDIF port. It features both XLR and TRS inputs and TRS outputs and a single high-impedance guitar input. It can operate at samplerates that range from 32kHz to 192kHz and 24-bit depth. It connects to your Mac on PC based computer via either a 400 or 800 FireWire port and comes with TotalMix software and SteadyClock clocking. You can operate the FireFace without the need of a computer (Analog to ADAT optical).
