Budda Amps

Budda manufacturers handmade tube guitar amps and effect pedals. Budda was started by three Californians ( USA) who where leaders of Zen Engineering. They are the same people that made the 'Triaxis Preamp' and 'V-Twin' pedals for Mesa-Boogie. Their idea is not to build an amp that has all the bells and whistles, ie. channel switching, built-in DSP and other things. The build amps that are called 'Boutique' amps that feature offer point-to-point wiring on handcrafted printed circuit boards. The guitar tones available from these amps vary from a true sounding Clapton (Bluesbreakers) sound to the screaming Eddie Van Halen sound. Their amps also feature class 'A' operation (on most models) as well as all tube design. Some of their earlier models had some very interesting qualities. The Dualstage 30 actually had two different output tube sections. One section used EL84's while the other used 6L6's. Now that's true channel switching:)

They believe that the amp should respond the touch and picking action of the guitarist. They call it "Bone Tone". This is what is behind the amps design. It gives each amp its own sound depending upon how the guitarist plays his/her guitar. They've taken analog tube amps to a new level. Budda Superdrive 30 Series II Tube Guitar Amp (Head)
The Budda SuperDrive 30 tube guitar amp head is a two-channel 30 watt all tube amp that is made for the most demanding guitarists. This head is also available in 18 watts and 80 watts, as well as several combo versions. It's a great amp for studio and live use.

Budda SuperDrive 30 Combo Amp with 2x12 Speakers
The Budda Superdrive 30 combo amp is a 30 watt boutique amp with two 12" speakers. This amp is for the most demanding guitarist that is looking for great tone and performance. It is handwired using point-to-point wiring as well as three PCBs. The amp is completely tube based using four (4) EL-84 power amp tubes and three (3) 12AX7 preamp tubes. Also the output transformers are custom wound. The speakers are custom designed Budda Phat 12" speakers.

Budda Superdrive 80 Series II Head
The Budda Superdrive 80 is a two channel 80 watt all tube guitar amp head made for the guitarist who is interested in great tone. You might be thinking that 80 watts isn't enough power but this amp (as with many tube amps) is loud enough to fill a good size hall with no problem (See the THD amps section). It's capable of sounds from warm clean, crystal clear cleans to very dirty overdriven sounds. It's a very versitle amp.

Budda PhatMan Tube Distortion Pedal
The Budda Phatman is a tube based distortion pedal that has a real tube sound that doesn't change the overall characteristics of your guitar and amp. It uses two high gain 12AX7 preamp tubes that has a wide range of tonal sounds from blues to overdrive, classic rock tones. You can see the tubes under the red vent in the above picture. The four knobs below it are GAIN, Treble, Bass, and Volume control. The gain control is where you dial in how much distortion you want and then adjust the output volume knob.
