ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar Quilted Maple

The ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 is a solid-body six-string electric guitar crunch machine. It features a Mahogany body and neck, EMG-81/60 humbucking pickups, TonePros locking Bridge, and the Earvana Compensated Nut.

The body is made of mahogany with a beautiful quilted flame maple top. The finish is red (STBC) with a gloss finish. The bridge is a TonePros locking bridge and tailpiece. It is a Tune-o-matic bridge with set screws that lock down the bridge and tailpiece. This increases the tone and sustain of the strings. The bridge and tailpiece won’t fall off or move when you change strings. The quilted maple flame top is arched with recessed knobs. The control knobs like all the hardware is black nickel.

The 24.75 inch scale length neck is made of mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has 24 extra-jumbo frets with Abalone flags plus the model name at the 12th fret. The neck profile is Thin U Neck Contour for fast playing. There is also binding around the neck, headstock, and body. The EC-1000’s neck is set-thru the body. It’s glued into the body similar to a set-in neck but with the bulky heel carved away. This increases the energy transfer and gives the guitar a warmer and rich tone. Another great thing about the neck is the Earvana compensated nut. This nut fixes the intonation problems that occur because of the different tensions and masses of the each string. The Earvana nut changes the length of each string in such a way that your guitar plays in tune when playing open chords in the first 5 fret positions.

The humbucking pickups are from EMG with the model 81 in the bridge position and the model 60 in the neck position. The EMG81/60 combination is active and requires a 9-volt battery to work. These are high-output pickups with the 81 designed for lead guitarists. It has a U-shaped humbucking structure but uses steel bars in place of the pole pieces and a smaller ceramic magnet. The sound of the pickup is consistent, sustain is long with a smooth breakup fade. The ceramic magnets and steel bar pole pieces also give the pickup quick attack while still remaining fat and quiet. The EMG 60 is designed as an aggressive rhythm pickup with a lot of mid-range output. This is because of the close aperture coils with ceramic magnets. It’s got a bright attack with a resonance slope that is steeper than most. Its peak energy is higher than most as well.
