The Fender '57 Twin is hand-wired all tube 40 watt amp with two 12" Alnico speakers. This is a hand made amp and sounds awesome! The output tubes are (2) GT6L6 with the (4) 12AX7 preamp tubes.

This amp being hand wired sounds much more like the original 1957 twin amp. This is one of Fender's Custom Series amplifiers. It's made with top of the line components and quality inspections. This amp has the "Low Powered" 5E8A circuit that was found in the Fender Amps between 1955 and 1957. This produces 40 watts of power from (2) GT6L6-GE output tubes. The speakers are two 12" Specially designed speakers by Ted Weber and Eminence. Each speaker has an Alnico-magnet which heighten the already harmonically dense sound that the amp already has. This is a great amp for Rock, Blues, and both types of Music: Country and Western ;^)

You can also crank it up! It has a fat distortion that is difinitely the 6L6 sound. Very useable for modern rock -> pop music. So don't think it's just made for vintage music because it really cranks.

The all-tube amp uses a power supply that was rarely used in the mid-50's fender amps. It is a dual-rectifier using two 5U4 rectifier tubes. It has a built-in power amp compesation for the power sag so that when you really play it loud the power supply has enough power to keep up with the rest the amp. The sound remains very consistant and solid. The '57 twin also comes with (4) 12AX7 tubes that can be substituted with 12AY7's for a more vintage '50s sound. There is also a BIAS potentiometer that allows you to use different types of 6L6's (control plate bias voltage). The front panel has Normal and Bright Volume controls and (4) inputs: 2 normal, 2 Bright, also a Treble, Bass and Presence Knobs.

The look of the amp is just great. I really am starting to like the vintage tweed look. The cabinet itself is solid pine that has a very warm and resonant woody tone. The lacquered tweed covering is just like the original amps of that time and so is the brown and gold grille cloth. Just a supurb amp.
