Fender FM 212R Low Cost Guitar Combo Amp

Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp
FM 212R Guitar Amp

The Fender FM 212R is a 100 watt guitar amp and is transistor based. It is made for reliability but still has tone similar to tube amps. It comes with (2) 12" special designed 75 watt speakers and can get quite loud. It has three selectable channels: Clean, Drive, and More Drive ;) The preamp section has a Mid-Contour feature so you can dial-in how much mids you want. This makes it easy to get a wide variety of sounds from Metal, Puck, Blues, and Rock. The DRIVE and MORE DRIVE channels use the contour knob while the clean channel has Treble, Mid, Bass controls and is very clean sounding. The Drive Channels has a Drive Control, Volume, Channel Select Switch, Treble, Mid, Mid Contour Switch, Bass and Reverb Controls.

It has an effects loop (mono) so you can run your delays and reverb in the loop and not in the input. It also has a preamp output so you can connect it to another power amp or run it into a mixer for recording or sending to the house system (1/4" High Impedance).

Its black control panel and vinyl covering and speaker grille cloth look pretty cool with its chrome hardware. It has a Fender like tone but is not a tube amp but rather a transistor amp. It's really affordable and reliable. The two-button switch allows you to select the channel as well as enable the onboard spring reverb. There is also a power amp in which you can use to amplify other line-level signals.
