Gibson SG Pete Townshend (Discontinued) |
||
The Pete Townshend Gibson SG is not longer manufactured. It was made as a tribute to the Legendary guitarist Who was a major part of the British evasion. It is a collector’s item and will do nothing but increase in value (if that's what you are interested in). It's also a well made and sounding SG. This one comes with the P-90 single coil pickups. The P-90's where first introduced in 1947 just after the war and before the dual coil humbuckers. The body is made of mahogany with the classic SG body shape and early 60's tailpiece. The color is cherry with a finish is satin (The classic looking SG). The 24.75" scale length neck features 22 frets on a rosewood fretboard with dot inlays in the appropriate positions. The back of the headstock features a Pete Townshend signature graphic. It also features a cream binding around the fingerboard. The hardware is 'British' chrome :) Ok it's just chrome but Pete can tell you British chrome is better ;) The electronics and controls are vintage as well as the two P-90 single coil pickups. It also has a 3-way pickup selector and two volume/two tone controls. The 3-way pickup selector is in the standard configuration: Bridge, Bridge+Neck, and Neck. Features
