Roland Guitar Synths |
The Roland Guitar Synths allow a guitarist to playback synth sounds from their guitar. The Guitar is fitted with a MIDI pickup which translates the guitar string strums and plucks into MIDI ON and MIDI OFF notes as well as VELOCITY and other MIDI information that has been used for controlling MIDI Keyboards for years. They can be used with the Roland midi guitar or with most electric guitars fitted with a Roland midi pickup. The MIDI pickup along with the Guitar's output are sent to the Roland MIDI Guitar Synth where the signal is converted and then routed to either the internal synthesizer or to an external MIDI synth (basic operation of a MIDI guitar). This allows the guitarist to play any number of synthesizers for performance or composition. The Guitar Pickup output is routed to the digital effects and Roland COSM section. The guitar pickup output can also be routed a 1/4" mono Phono jack so you can connect it to your current amp setup. This freedom allows guitarists to access the next-generation keyboards with the revolutionary MIDI Guitar technology. Built in the tradition of the highly acclaimed systems use advanced COSM technology to "model" the most popular guitars and amplifiers in music history, as well as produce some very unique "guitar-meets-synth" sounds of its own. |
