Schecter C-1 Plus
The C-1 Plus is a 6-string electric that features a flamed maple top and Mahogany neck with Abalone and Pearl ‘Vector’ inlays. The all Mahogany body has a sculpted flame maple top which is available in Transparent Blue, Black Cherry, and Vintage Sunburst.

The Schecter Hellraiser C-1 is a six-string electric guitar made for the metal player. It features a mahogany body, ultra access cut-a-way, 3-piece mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, 24 extra jumbo frets, EMG humbucking pickups with singlecoil taps and switches.

The body is made of mahogany and comes in three colors: Black, White, and Black Cherry. Mahogany has a deep darker tone than basswood for example. It’s great for metal and works well with the EMG pickups. It includes the ultra-access cut-a-way allow you to easily play all the way up to the 24 th fret. The Black Cherry version comes with a quilted maple top. Here the added maple top gives you more brightness and attack along with lots of sustain. The TonePros Tune-o-matic style bridge has a string through body tailpiece. This gives the guitar more sustain and tone while also adding more tuning stability. There’s Abalone binding on the black cherry and white versions and grey pearl binding on the black finished guitars.

The 25.5 inch scale length neck is made of 3-pieces of mahogany. It has a rosewood fretboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets. There’s also Gothic cross inlays position markers and Grover locking tuners. Again there’s abalone binding around the headstock and neck on the black cherry and white models and grey binding on the black version.

The electronics consists of two volume controls, a tone control and three-way pickup selector. The two pickups are a EMG 81TW and EMG 89 Humbuckers. Each pickup has a coil tap that allows single coil operation. The singlecoil/humbucker tap switch is activated by pulling up on the pickup’s volume control. Up = Single and Down = Humbucker. This combination allows for a wide variety of humbucker and single coil tones. The EMG pickups are active pickups that require a nine-volt battery to operate. The size of the magnet on these pickups is somewhat smaller than passive pickups. It’s smaller size magnet allows for the strings to vibrate and resonant more freely giving you more sustain and tone. These pickups are loud because of the small preamp circuit built inside. That’s why the battery is needed. You’ll need to un-plug your guitar to extend the battery life. You’ll get about 750 hours of playing time which of course depends on the battery. The pickups can actually operate at voltages up to 27 volts. The EMG 81TW is in the bridge position and the EMG 89 in the neck position. Both pickups have two preamps in them, one tuned for humbucker and the other for single coil. The EMG-81TW has an aggressive sound as well as a fatter single coil tone with plenty of punch and clarity.

There is also a Floyd Rose version of this guitar called the Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR.
