Squier Bullet Low Cost Guitar |
|
|
The Squier Bullet is by far Squier's most affordable Stratocaster designed guitar. This is the perfect guitar for beginners and students. It was originally introduced in mid 2000 and is available in Baltic Blue (shown). It features a slimmer laminated hardwood body than that of their Stratocaster (standard). It's probably Alder, Agathis, or a mix of other hardwoods. The 25.5” scale 21-fret maple neck has a rosewood fretboard and dot inlays. The neck is 'C' shaped and has a nut width of 1.61”. The neck is sealed with a coat of polyurethane which helps to keep the neck from warping in higher humidity areas. You can adjust the neck curvature via the truss rod. You can also adjust the action and intonation as well. The guitar's truss rod is set at its optimal setting before leaving the factory. The 3 single coil pickups are similar to the type you would find on the fenders but are not as powerful but still have that fender single coil tone. There is a 5-way pickup selector that allows you to change from bridge, bridge+middle, middle, middle+neck, and neck combinations. This is a great guitar for learning how to modify the pickups and electronics. It's also great for painting and making other modifications without costing too much. It also comes with the standard volume control and two tone controls. The tone controls are for the neck pickup and the middle pickup. Some of its unique features are the Large Headstock (where the tuners are) that is similar to the 1960s Style Headstock. It also has white plastic knobs, pickup covers, and pickguard. The thing I did miss on this guitar was a tremolo. This guitar has a 'Hardtail' Bridge which means it doesn't have a tremolo bar (whammy). The tuners are made of chrome and not bad for an 80 dollar guitar. It's by no means meant to be better than their Strat or Affinity Strat. The hardware is not as good as well as the feel of the neck. It doesn't come with a case. The strings are Fender Super 250L (.009 to .042) Nickel Plated Steel. Features
