The Digitech Vocal 300 vocal effects processor is designed exclusively for voice. It is used to process the voice similar to what guitar effect processors do for guitar. The Vocal 300 allows you to make your voice sound warm as well as make it sound like space aliens. This box is made to be placed on the floor in front of the vocalist. They can then change effect types as well as other real-time parameters by stepping on the large footswitches (UP, DOWN, BYPASS). There is also an expression pedal that is used to change effect parameters in real-time. The pedal can be assigned to modify/change up to 3 parameters of a particular effect. There is also 4 parameter editing knobs that are located right above the large footswitches. These are used to edit the effects. It's capable of using up to 7 effects at the same time. There are 38 different effect types some are reverb, delay, mic simulation, pitch shift, EQ, and lo-fi. It includes 40 great sounding presets and 40 more user presets for creating your own effects. It comes with a microphone preamp, but no phantom power. There is an INPUT Volume control knob as well. It has both an XLR input and a 1/4" TRS input. The TRS input will accept 1/4" mono instrument type connectors as well. The output connectors are XLR, 1/4" TRS which is used for stereo output via a "Y" cable (also mono 1/4"). You can only use one of the inputs at a time. If you plug anything into the 1/4" input the XLR input is disconnected. The Vocal 300 also includes a stereo headphone output as well as an 1/8" CD input for practicing. This allows you to really thicken up your vocals while listening to your favorite songs on CD.
